My Story
I have so many memories, good and bad, growing up and a lot of them have my three grandparents. My grandpa on my fathers’ side past away when my grandma was pregnant with my dad. He was doing military drills over the Pacific Ocean jumping out of airplanes. Six guys jumped out, but only five parachutes where seen. They never found his body. As for my grandma, she just passed away two years ago in January. My mothers’ parents both passed away within a two year period, first my grandpa on Christmas eve when I was 19, and then my grandma on my 21stbirthday. These two were some of the biggest influences in my life. They were always there for me growing up. All through high school I played basketball and my grandparents were without a doubt my biggest fans. They went to every game and sat right in the front. With how much they loved me and were always there for me, it made me want
to make them proud. I wanted to be there when I graduated high school and they made it.
But shortly after they both passed and one thing I always wanted them to
be a part of was my wedding. I wanted them to be able to meet my wife. Be able to play with my kids and give them an opportunity to be great grandparents to my kids. I wanted to graduate college, but once they passed I had a sad feeling pass over me and instantly broke down. I felt I was not able to make them proud. But most of all I didn’t get to share my family with them.
Little did I know at the time that they already met my wife. After they passed I decided there is no reason to take my time in living my life. I need to get started right away because you never know what life will give you. I just wanted to accomplish so much and make my family
proud. Five years have passed and I never knew that I would be here today. I am one month away from marrying the love of my life. She is my older sisters best friend. She has been a part of our lives for 14 years and it makes me so grateful to know that she met my grandma and my grandma met and loved her. I also know deep down that my grandma is somewhere right now with my future children, watching over them until they come here. It warms my heart knowing this. I cannot wait to be
with them again.
